Boston College 23 – SMU 14

Any time you can go 2-0 in a bowl game, you will take it. It was a wet and sloppy game at Fenway Park early, and surprisingly BC pushed SMU around, especially in the second half. A 3-point first quarter got us off to a great start on our under but it was quickly in jeopardy with a 21-point second. But that was the last time in the total was really in doubt. BC flexed late and the +12.5 was never in doubt.

SMU/ Boston College Under 47.5 ✅

 

Rutgers 31 – Miami 24

Rutgers led Miami 31-17 with 3 minutes to play. Thankfully, Mario Cristobal has no idea how to manage a clock, or they may have had enough time to make things crazy as they scored late and recovered the onside kick. But they ran out of time, with two timeouts in their back pocket. Go figure. Rutgers got their first win ever of Miami in football in their 12th try. Big win.

Kansas State 28 – NC State 19

Avery Johnson, the star Freshman QB for Kansas State proved to be too much as NC State made way too many mistakes. At times, it looked like NC State could do enough to stay in it, but they faded late.

NC State +2 ❌

 

Oregon 82 – USC 74

We wrote in our preview and pick of this Pac-12 opener that we just love this Dana Altman squad at home despite being banged up. They did not disappoint. They jumped out ahead early and never looked back. Nice to hit this early Pac-12 college hoops play.
